Hello to all our friends of Wade’s World! It doesn’t seem possible that we are writing our 9th annual business letter. What a year we had in 2011 and we are very proud of our many accomplishments thanks to your generous donations.
Our biggest cheerleader Jamie, who is Wade’s younger sister, was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Jamie is one of the strongest young ladies we know and has fought this disease with everything she has. Today we are proud to say she has won and is in remission. She is now in college in San Fransico studying and playing soccer.
We have spent our year helping children and families during the most difficult times in their lives. When in doubt of exactly what would help, we purchase gift cards to grocery stores and to Wal-Mart. We have also purchased oil for families who are in need of heat during the cold months.
Many winter coats have been provided to children still wearing nylon summer jackets that don’t fit anymore. It is such a wonderful feeling to see that child all warm and cozy in a coat provided by Wade’s World. . . it is almost like Wade is wrapping his arms around them!
Wade’s World has a couple of wishes to grant this year, including a young girl who would like to throw out the first pitch at a Rock Cats game. We helped a family celebrate Christmas this year – without our help they would not have been able to have a Christmas. This past year has also been incredibly busy! We have had the most requests this year, more than any other year and while we have been able to grant all the requests, it does take a toll on our funds. This year we are hoping for our most successful fundraising year ever.
Monies also are donated from Wade’s World in loving memory of Wade to his most favorite place on earth, Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT. To give a child in treatment or remission from a life threatening disease the opportunity to spend a week at that camp is priceless.
We have never turned a request down for assistance and currently Wade’s World has donated over $62,000 in wishes since our inception 8 years ago. We are pushing forward to become bigger and better in helping children and their families through the most difficult times of their lives. Because of your generous donations and commitment to Wade’s World, we will continue to brighten a child’s life the way our buddy Wade did for us.
Wade's World can grant these wishes because of the corporate sponsors like you. Once again we ask for your support of a $100 donation, with this donation you will receive 2 tickets to attend our annual pasta dinner. I realize these are tough times, but the children really need us. Thank you in advance for your support and we hope to see you at our annual fundraiser on March 30, 2012 at Nuchie's Restaurant.
